Established in 2013, Green Earth Poets Café a 501 (c) (3) non profit company exists to promote performing, literacy, self confidence, communication, community, and educational development among young people in economically challenged areas of NYC through performing arts. We assist in the development of performance artists, creative writers and inspire, encourage, and empower youth to discover their voice and express this voice poetically.
To serve as a Poetry and Theater company providing urban community youth with the opportunity to create and share original poems through a “poetry slam” performance model and theatrical productions. To assist the development of original poetry and performance practices for urban youth using video conference technology. To serve as a resource for youth across the world to share their poems.
To serve as a home for self expression for youth in our community through poetry performance which builds self-esteem, and self-confidence. The organization enriches the minority community by providing a forum for the expression of original poetry and music by artist of a variety of backgrounds.
